I'm interested in showing and visualising queerness and new forms of depicting masculinity on screen. I aim to to this mainly through humour and a tender approach to sexuality, trauma and the universal search for meaning and belonging.

Jan-Peter Horstmann studied theater and film directing at the Zurich University of the Arts and the Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF. His short films, which primarily explore queer and comedic themes, have been screened at numerous national and international film festivals, including BFI Flare London, the Odense International Film Festival, NewFest New York, Outfest Los Angeles, and Interfilm Berlin. They have also been nominated for awards such as the Max Ophüls Prize 2019 and the IRIS Prize 2018. He is currently developing his debut film RICK, the series CHILL and the queer family film PAARTANZ, which has received treatment funding from the Federal Film Fund of Germany.
