Itzik Amar - Filmmaker Born in Jerusalem in 1987. Professional dancer, choreographer and dance teacher. Graduate of the Department of Film and Television, Tel Hai College. He started dancing at the age of 10 at the "Mehola" dance school where he received his training in dance. From there he continued at the age of 18 and danced in the "Kibbutz Dance Comany" for about five years. Worked as a freelance dancer at the Suzanne Dellal Center, the Inbal Dance Theater dance, prestigious dance projects in Israel and around the world. Participated in the musicals of the Cameri Theater, "Hair" and "West Side Story". Choreographed for the Independence Day ceremony on Mount Herzl (2012) and won a choreography award from the "Carmiel Festival" (2011). He studied music editing at the Kibbutzim Seminar and edited soundtracks for various dance works in Israel and around the world. Today he creates independent video, directing-photography-editing, specializing in dance and documentary, and conducts video dance workshops for students. • His first documentary film, "World in a word", participated in the student competition at the Epic Festival of Culture and Art in Tel Aviv (2018). • His second feature film, "BlinDate" has been selected to participate in the 2019TLVfest Proud Film Festival. • The documentary final film "Until We'll Find a Place" is supported by the New Film Foundation. His films deal with agendas and issues mostly related to the proud community, culture and art, self-exploration, family, and interpersonal relationships. Today he is an independent filmmaker, dealing with the connection between cinema and dance, creating video dances, dance productions for video, directing, photography and editing.
