Fatima Wardy is a Sudani writer-director raised in the United Kingdom and currently based in Baltimore. Her work focuses on mothers and motherlands: on matriarchal tethers as sites of becoming. Her upcoming short film 'White Musk (2025)', explores the fraught relationship between a Sudanese American teenager and her terminally ill mother. The project was developed at Berlinale Short Form Station and received funding from Sundance Institute, The Islamic Scholarship Fund and Sharjah Art Foundation. Wardy directed the SXSW-winning short 'Hair Care' (2023), and is currently developing 'The Love Marriage', a documentary feature exploring the modernization of Sudan in the 1980s.
