The main themes of my work revolve around identity, belonging, ancestry, and hidden histories—particularly in the context of migration, intergenerational trauma, and power dynamics.

Emine is a director, screenwriter and a poet. Their cinematic works revolves around themes of racism, queer feminism, family, state oppression and the question of belonging and longing. She is one of eight children of parents from Turkey, who immigrated to Germany in the 1970’s. In 2012 she graduated with a Master's degree in Peace and Conflict Studies (Marburg & Kent). Her documentary '15 YIL' was screened at the Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival and the Near Nazareth Festival. Her video work on intersectional solidarity for the feminist performance piece 'Halt' premiered at the Ring Theater in 2021. She was a fellow of the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation's Fellowship for Outstanding Students. She holds a Masters degree in directing from the film school Filmarche, Europe's largest self-organised film school.
