Danielle Schwartz is an interdisciplinary researcher, writer and filmmaker residing in Israel. She studied literature (Tel Aviv University) Cultural Studies (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) and Comparative Literature (University of Chicago), as well as film (Sam Spiegel Film and Television School). Her academic research focused on the cinematic representation of Palestinian ruins in Israeli cinema and on other aspects of Israeli visual culture. She is a Certified Permaculture Designer and a leader of local initiatives concerning urban sustainability and community building in Tel Aviv. Mirror Image, her first film, won the Van Leer Award for Best Short Documentary Film at the Jerusalem Film Festival, and is screened internationally.
