Born in 1990 in Cannes, Coralie Watanabe Prosper is an author, actress, and director. She lives and works in Paris. A graduate of the École Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle de Nice (ESRA) and the East 15 Acting School in London, she has directed two previous short films that have won awards and been screened internationally: "Adieu et à bientôt" and "Mathi(eu)". This initiated a cinematographic approach that would continue to focus on queer identities at the center of our social narratives. She simultaneously worked for several years as a casting assistant on "Grace of Monaco" by Olivier Dahan, "De toutes nos forces" by Nils Tavernier, and the series "Engrenages," produced by Canal +. She then joined the Elizabeth Czerczuk company before founding her own theater company, Sakura no Ki no Shita 桜の木の下, where she created numerous plays for young audiences. Coralie Watanabe Prosper is currently finishing post-production on her short film "Kotowari," supported by the CNC, the Sud Region, Sacem, and France 2, and is developing her first feature film "Wagako" between France (No Yelling! Productions) and Japan (Bunbuku, the production company of Hirokazu Kore-eda) — supported in writing by the Jerusalem Sam Spiegel International Film Lab, Lab Sub, and Lab Med from Méditalents, Groupe Ouest Développement, Sud Region, and Ile de France Region.
