Anastasia Veber is a director and writer based in Berlin. She won the Golden Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlin International Film Festival (2022) with her short film Trap and is a double winner at the 65th International Film Festival in Oberhausen (Special Mention and 2nd Award in the NRW Competition for the short film Syndrome IO). Anastasia is participating in the Cannes Residency programme this year. She was also part of the Locarno Film Academy in 2023. Anastasia is working on her first feature project, Kindergarten Optimisten, which was selected for the TFL ScriptLab 2024 and La Residence Cinefondation. She graduated from the Saint Petersburg School of New Cinema (Directing) in 2018 and from the Saint Petersburg University of Cinema and Television (Screenwriting) in 2016. She also works as a curator and script consultant for the other film directors.
