Country: Lithuania

Adas is a film director based in Vilnius, Lithuania. For fifteen years he worked as a software engineer and computer scientist before he transitioned to filmmaking. Starting from high school he demonstrated exceptional results in exact sciences and decided to choose that path. Adas studied computer science at the University of Cambridge, then worked at tech companies like “Google”, “T-Mobile”, “Barclays” and others. During his undergraduate studies, Adas became interested in film. At first, it was a shelter from obsession of correctitude in exact sciences, later - a daydream career opportunity. At last, Adas started studying film directing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in 2020. Since then Adas has written and directed short films which were screened in Palm Springs International Short Film Festival, Vienna Shorts Film Festival, Trouville Off-Courts Film Festival and others. Adas’ graduation film “On Purpose” won best fiction award at Encuentro Para Cinéfagos in Venezuela, 3rd best fiction award at International Izmir Short Film festival and was selected for international competition programs in many festivals worldwide. Adas’ mixed background also inspires his creative vision. He is interested in themes such as technology, disillusionment, memory, and the subjectivity of our human experience.
