I’m interested in Jewish identity, diaspora, memory, and the search for belonging across cultures. My work often explores women navigating history, displacement, and complicated relationships through dark comedy, absurdity, and tenderness. I’m especially drawn to stories where grief and humor coexist, and where stubborn hope survives.

Ella Kohn is a filmmaker from Jerusalem working across directing, editing, and animation. Her films have screened at more than 50 festivals worldwide. She has served as a juror at Trieste Shorts, on the selection committee for LIM (Less Is More), and as a tutor for the Talents Generator Factory. She holds an MA in Film Studies from Tel Aviv University and is currently developing her first feature film.
