I am drawn to stories where inner states are not explained directly, but appear through rhythm, atmosphere, bodies, voice and small gestures. My films move between documentary observation and personal reflection, searching for moments where ordinary life begins to reveal something hidden underneath.

Jawad Lasfar is a Moroccan German filmmaker based in Berlin. His work moves between documentary observation, personal memory and the quiet search for belonging. Coming from a background in engineering, he is self taught in directing, camera and editing, and has developed his film practice through personal projects, set work and a long parallel practice in music. His short documentary Missed Connection follows a return to Morocco through a letter in his mother’s voice, reflecting on distance, family and the feeling of being between places. Jawad is currently developing *Breath of Roses*, a short fiction about inner states, bodies and hidden emotional currents, and *Marilyn Set Me Free*, a feature project about twin brothers, migration and belonging.
