I am trying to find where identity begins and where performance ends. Masculinity, vulnerability, friendship, desire, and the psychological consequences of repression are what I crave to understand. Cinema can translate invisible emotional experiences into visually visceral ones, and I will strive for that to be my signature as a filmmaker.

Georgi Petkov is a Bulgarian screenwriter, director, and theater-trained actor. He is a graduate with a degree in Visual & Performance Arts at the American University in Bulgaria. Georgi has been involved in intensive acting programs in the T. Schreiber Studio in New York as well as The Lee Strasberg Film & Theater Institute in Los Angeles. As a part of the writers’ team for the Rotten Tomatoes-certified platform Loud and Clear Reviews, Georgi has attended acclaimed European film festivals as a critic and journalist, where he continues to solidify his understanding and passion for quality storytelling. Georgi's professional debut as a writer-director, Silent Mode, with Halford Films (UK) and Studio Karakashyan (Bulgaria), begins its festival circuit in September. His next project, Pill for Loneliness, enters production in the fall, as part of the Cinema intensive at the MustArt Short Film & Music Festival.
