I am drawn to stories about the human cost of the systems we live inside, whether they are personal, social, political, or environmental. I’m interested in the roles people take on without fully understanding what those roles will demand of them, and in the tension between what society expects from us and what we secretly need for ourselves. My work often explores identity, care, shame, power, corruption, and the emotional consequences of decisions made within families, communities, and larger structures. I’m also deeply interested in how ecological and social crises shape intimate human relationships, and in the quiet ways people adapt, endure, or finally resist. Across all my work, I look for the point where private emotional conflict reveals something larger about a community, a culture, or a collapsing moral order.

Aline Nivin is a Dublin based screenwriter and filmmaker. She studied Directing and Production in the MFA program at Tel Aviv University. With a background in interior design, she creates visually driven, intimate stories exploring identity, care, and emotional entrapment. Her short film Companion is based on an award-winning screenplay recognized at five international festivals and serves as a proof of concept for a TV drama series.
