My work explores how memory, desire, and vulnerability shape our sense of presence and belonging. I am interested in the quiet emotional lives of people, especially in moments of isolation, intimacy, and transition. Through minimalistic storytelling and close observation, I try to capture how inner experiences—often invisible—leave traces in the body, in space, and in everyday gestures.

Baonan Wang was born in Inner Mongolia, China. Between 2012 and 2014, she specialized in local filmmaking in an independent film group in Beijing. In 2015, She moved to Germany. In 2017, she began her MA studies at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. From 2020, Baonan studies film directing at the DFFB. At the same time, she works as a freelance filmmaker for documentaries, interviews and analog cinematography.
