As a filmmaker from China now based in Europe, I have lived and worked across countries in Asia, Europe, and the United States. With a background in journalism and documentary, my storytelling is grounded in slice-of-life realism, yet shaped by my female and diasporic perspective. I am drawn to poetic, intimate, and sensual emotional landscapes, often exploring themes of womanhood, gender dynamics, and the experiences of Asian artists navigating Western culture. My approach to filmmaking is fluid and hybrid, blending genres and forms to blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. I merge documentary and fiction, the everyday and the fantastical, always seeking the cinematic language that best serves the emotional truth of the story.
