Born into poverty, Maxim was forced into a life of filmmaking at a young age. Helping his single mom by walking the streets, camera in hand, producing film after film in order to stay ahead of the rent. Eventually, he sank into an existential depression, which greatly informed his films, which then greatly alleviated his existential depression. His first short 'Karkas' was selected to over twenty festivals and won the Grand Prix at the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival which he won again two years later with his second short 'Lilith'. Both his acceptance speeches were very moving and touched on some important matters regarding the human condition. As of 2022, Maxim has over 200 active matches on Tinder.
